Arrival and departure from school
Parking bays are located in William Street along with parking on the New England Highway.
Students exit from all gates in the afternoon and are expected to use the school flagged crossing in William Street or the traffic lights on the New England Highway.
Subsidised school travel
Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.
- The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
- The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
Bus travel
All students from Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two are entitled to free bus travel providing they apply for a pass. For new applications or for students with changing circumstances, parents or guardians are required to fill in a form online at NSW transports - Child and student concessions. Once the school has endorsed the application, Transport NSW will mail the School Opal card to the applicant's home address.
Conditions for the issue of a Bus Pass are:
- The Opal Card must be shown on entry to the bus or a fare must be paid.
- Bus travel and passes may be cancelled if an act of vandalism occurs or unacceptable bus behaviour persists. The Bus Company may contact the parents directly over issues of unacceptable behaviour or over incidents that create a potential danger for other passengers.
- The bus company has the right to suspend or cancel a pass at any time.
Parents are requested to carefully instruct their children as to correct behaviour whilst on the buses and how to behave appropriately and respect other people's property whilst awaiting morning pick up. Blue Ribbon Coaches may be contacted for further information on 02 4935 7200.
The school provides supervision at bus lines and also disciplines those who misbehave on buses. However the school cannot be held responsible for what actually occurs whilst the children are travelling. The school reinforces Bus safety through its Student Welfare Program and Practices.
